Hello you gorgeous thing!
Did you know that Friday 8th March is International Women’s Day?

Did you also know that each IWD sets a theme for the following year?
The 2019 campaign theme is: #BalanceforBetter,

From the IWD website:

The future is exciting. Let’s build a gender-balanced world.

Everyone has a part to play – all the time, everywhere.

From grassroots activism to worldwide action, we are entering an exciting period of history where the world expects balance. We notice its absence and celebrate its presence.

Balance drives a better working world. Let’s all help create a #BalanceforBetter.

Does IWD mean anything in particular to you? For some of you I guess it’s a resounding NO and for others a firm YES. Whatever your thoughts, or stance on the changing face of women’s (and all versions of feminism/identity) place in society, and I am sure there are many, the one thing that underpins the foundation of success for so many is SUPPORT.
Support in every sense of the word is crucial. Period.

Having moved school, house, county, country, social groups, and whatever else you can contribute to a previously lived nomadic existence, I know the feelings of that I don’t belong, and to literally not belong. The feelings of isolation, exclusion, loneliness, and darn right emptiness are the reason I work so hard to build community wherever I lay my hat.

Community, support, love, and laughter are the pillars of society, particularly where women are involved. No matter what is going on in our lives, good or bad, no matter how hard things may be, or appear, everything is definitely better after a cup of tea and a good old chinwag (as we say in England) or a glass of wine and a giggle with your besties.

Our girlfriends are one of our most precious gifts so let’s celebrate them!
Think of one thing you can/would love to do which would light up the lives and hearts of some of your besties and just do it, no matter how big or small the gesture may be.
Just imagine, if you had a core group of 8 friends and each of you organized or did something thoughtful for the other 7, you would have 7 reciprocal gestures of fun and celebration in return for your one, now that, my friend is a no brainer! Enjoy your weekend!
